One YouTuber’s Routine That Keeps Her Skin Glowing All Day Long
One YouTuber’s By day, Graphic Designer Jasmine Rossol spends most of her time behind a computer screen, creating designs and branding for a large fast food company. But the California native steps in front of the camera for her side hustle as one of YouTube’s biggest lifestyle vloggers. Rossol entertains hundreds of thousands of fans on her channel, where her daily adventures are all on display. That’s exactly the reason she puts her best face forward, whether she’s running errands or going on a tropical vacation.
The 26-year-old graphic designer believes a dedicated skin-care regimen is key to maintaining her glowing skin for all of life’s moments. “The makeup routine switches up depending on where I’m going,” says Rossol. “If I’m filming a YouTube video, I wear a little bit more. When I’m going to work, I try to look more natural. The constant is always my skin care, which is the most important thing whether I’m wearing makeup or not.”
Pay attention to skin: For Rossol, skin is a barometer for how well she’s balancing work and personal life. “If it is feeling dull, or looking dry, it’s an indicator that something in my life is off. Either I’m too stressed, or I’m focusing too much on work,” she says. Rossol says skin care is part of self care, and she makes an effort to incorporate skin-nourishing habits into her routines, like keeping her skin hydrated through her favorite skin-care products and vitamin-rich smoothies. Says Rossol, “I want my skin to feel radiant and healthy.”
Then, moisturize: The outdoors can wreak havoc on Rossol’s sensitive skin thanks to the beaming California sun and heat, which can cause sweat buildup or dryness. “Especially on days when I’m filming, I make sure to spend extra time in the morning to hydrate and take care of my skin,” says Rossol. “If I take care of my skin beforehand, my makeup stays on better.” She applies a lightweight moisturizer, such as Aveeno Positively Radiant Sheer Daily Moisturizer, that layers well under makeup. And not only does it leave her skin glowing, it also includes sun-blocking SPF 30.
Have products serve a multi-purpose: When Rossol is in a hurry, she repurposes beauty products for a fast camera-ready look. Bronzer will also serve as eye shadow. “I use it on my eyes to define them when I don’t have enough time to use every color of eye shadow that I’d use on a normal day.” Lipstick can also do double-time as blush. Finally, for brows, Rossol uses a two-sided tool that features both a shaper and a pencil – “one side to brush them out, one side to fill them in.”
