Marc Jacobs Beauty Launches Enamored Lip Gloss Inspired by the New Daisy Love Fragrance
Marc Jacobs Beauty While the rest of us were worrying about how often we should post to Instagram for ideal engagement with our followers (oh, that’s just me?), the Marc JacobsBeauty and Marc Jacobs Fragrances Instagram accounts opened the photo floodgates yesterday to share eight images promoting the latest shade of Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer, Daisy Love. And if that name sounds familiar, it’s probably because Daisy Love is also what the latest Marc Jacobs fragrance is called — and that’s no coincidence.
“Inspired by his newest fragrance, Daisy Love, Marc created the perfect peachy nude shade to reflect the magnetic energy and eclectic spirit of the Daisy Love girl,” a press release from Marc Jacobs Beauty reads. The shade also reflects the pastel color of the Daisy Love fragrance itself, which, like so many other fragrances in the Daisy collection, comes in a bottle topped off with a cartoonishly cute flower. That flower also makes a two-dimensional appearance on the Daisy Love edition of the Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer box.
So, does the lip gloss smell just like the fragrance? Not exactly. Daisy Love — the gloss — has “a touch of berry flavor,” which is a nod to the crystalized cloudberry note in the eau de toilette. Daisy Love — the fragrance — is much more complex; in addition to the cloudberries, the floral-meets-gourmand scent features notes of petals from the daisy tree, and a dry down of driftwood and cashmere musks.
Like the other shades in the best-selling Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer line, Daisy Love promises what Marc Jacobs Beauty refers to as a “30 coats of lacquer” effect, providing long-lasting color that’s especially impressive for such a glossy formula. It became available on marcjacobsbeauty.com yesterday for $28. Meanwhile, Daisy Love eau de toilette is available for $84 or $104 (depending on the size) from a variety of retailers.
